Tunisia: Steering committee meeting of the municipal waste management plan (PCGD) in the Municipality of Sidi bou Saïd

A meeting was held on January 31, 2014 by the steering committee of the municipal waste management plan (PCGD) in the Municipality of Sidi bou Saïd. The aim was to present and discuss the first - diagnostic - phase of the PCGD, to determine the current state of the project.

The results of the diagnostic phase are included in the preparatory work that aims to integrate the project into the legal framework. This framework is a legal convention signed by the three municipalities involved in the project – La Marsa, Sidi bou Saïd and Carthage. The said preparations were implemented with the assistance and financial support of GIZ/SWEEP-Net.

After the different parties had presented their contribution to the current state of the PCGD, the details of their reports were discussed: technical aspects, human and financial resources and matters of communication. All recommendations and insights that the committee members gained during the meeting will be implemented and considered in the following phases of the project.
