Job opportunities with the WSSCC Global Sanitation Fund
Three exciting Global Sanitation Fund (GSF) roles are now being advertised by the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC). Applications are due by 30 March 2014 and can be submitted online at the website of the United Nations Office for Project Service (UNOPS), host to the Geneva-based WSSCC Secretariat.
Join a dynamic team working to help millions of previously unserved people in Africa and Asia achieve the status of accessing and using a toilet, through a country-owned programme, coordinated by a multi-stakeholder collective including national and international NGOs, WASH coalitions, government, external support agencies, and others.
Senior Programme Officers (3 positions, P4 level) are being recruited to manage a USD 25-35 million grant portfolio of large scale sanitation and hygiene programmes in five to six countries, respectively. They will foster cooperation among GSF affiliates in each country and provide oversight throughout the life cycle of the grant, reviewing programmatic and financial reports, advising on sanitation and hygiene related issues, making oversight visits to countries, providing technical support for strategic planning and management and approving the disbursement of funds. A Senior Programme Development Officer (1 position, P4 level) will manage the process of selecting countries, building relationships and identifying or establishing mechanisms for WSSCC engagement and GSF support. The incumbent will work with stakeholders to enable the development of a Country Programme Proposal on sanitation, as well as proposal evaluation criteria. A Financial and Systems Advisor (1 position, P4 level) will support the GSF Programme Manager in preparing annual department budgets, and liaise with UNOPS, Geneva Cluster Finance and Portfolio Management, to ensure compliance and application of financial regulations.
