Call for Abstracts Now Open: SWEEP-Net 3rd Regional Forum
The Regional Solid Waste Exchange of Information and Expertise Network in Mashreq and Maghreb countries (SWEEP-Net); is pleased to announce that the Call for Abstracts for its 3rd regional Forum, to be held at the Marriott hotel in Cairo/Egypt on May 14-16, 2013, is now available on the Forum website.
The theme of this 2013 Forum is “Solid Waste Management goes GREEN: New Opportunities for Employment, Social Equity and Sustainable Development in the MENA Region”. Topics to be discussed include Waste to Energy, Local Zero Waste Strategies, E-Waste Management, Organic Waste Management, etc. all in the context of Green Economy and Income Generation.
If you have the required expertise and are interested to participate as a potential speaker, you are kindly asked to submit your abstract by March 22nd, 2013.
In addition to offering you a chance to share your experience in the field, this Forum is also an opportunity to learn about and discuss the latest issues and happenings in waste management and to get an exclusive networking opportunity with regional and international experts from both public and private sectors.
The 2011 and 2012 Forums held in Lebanon and Morocco respectively, each brought more than 120 experienced professionals from the public and private sectors as well as from municipalities, universities and NGOs and featured no less than 25 high-level presentations.

New opportunities for Employment, Social Equity and Sustainable Development in the MENA Region presenters:
The forum will debate on the latest issues and happenings in waste management, and to get an exclusive networking opportunity with regional and international experts from both public and private sectors. While the 2012 Forum focused on the Economic and Ecological Potentials of Greening the Waste Sector in the MENA region, this year’s forum will follow-up by debating on a key sustainability topic for the MENA region .
