Vacancy Announcement

Junior Consultant –Integrated Land and Water Management (re-advertisement)

The Global Water Partnership and the International Land Coalition are committed to work together to promote integrated land and water governance, with an emphasis on knowledge generation and sharing. This collaboration will build on the fact that the Director of the International Land Coalition Secretariat, has been recently appointed as member of GWP’s Technical Advisory Committee.  A Memorandum of Understanding recently signed between GWP and ILC is an additional expression of the commitment of the two organisations to work together to promote improved land and water governance.

ILC, in collaboration with GWP, is hiring a Consultant to contribute to advancing GWP/TEC’s work on integrated land and water management, and, more broadly, to support the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between GWP and ILC to promote improved land and water governance.  The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Director of ILC.

Background

The Global Water Partnership  (GWP) is a global network of partner organisations established to promote integrated water resources management (IWRM) as means of achieving improved water governance. A Technical Advisory Committee  has been established to drive GWP’s efforts to create, accumulate, and disseminate knowledge to support IWRM change processes. The Technical Committee’s focus is on the substance of IWRM, and its functions include advancing the subject of IWRM and providing substantive guidance and policy support to regional and country partnerships. The International Land Coalition (ILC) is a global alliance of civil society and intergovernmental organizations working together to promote secure and equitable access to and control over land for poor women and men.  In recognition of the increasing interconnectedness between land and other natural resources (water, forest, etc.), the ILC is committed to developing needed partnerships in order to tackle this growing complexity. It is in this context that the collaboration with the Global Water Partnership is being envisaged. For more information: www.landcoalition.org
