NOVIWAM EU Project - Online Survey

The NOVIWAM project (Novel Integrated Water Management Systems for Southern Europe), is a project funded by the EU under the 7^th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development. One of the goals of the project is to identify what can be done in order to improve the management of water resources, particularly in relation to the use of Decision Support Systems (DSS) at the catchment level. The project comprises partners from 5 countries (Albania, Cyprus, France, Portugal and Spain) and is aimed to expand beyond the borders of the project participant countries to neighboring countries facing similar challenges.

 The aim of this survey is to collect the expert opinions –like yours- of different levels of authorities, utilities, researchers, companies, end users and other stakeholders, somehow linked or involved in the Water Resource Management process; this way we will be able to map the main problems it faces in the participating regions and the possible solutions to these problems offered by the R&D system. Therefore, the results obtained from this survey will be used to identify the current situation of Integrated Catchment and River Basin Management Systems in Southern Europe, an area with significant differences regarding water resources from the rest of countries within the EU.

 The resulting report will be available for consultation in 2011 at the NOVIWAM’s webpage (www.noviwam.eu), which is currently under construction.
