Purpose of the Position
You will direct the activities and responsible for
the wide range of services and procurement conducted by the Centre to ensure
that the appropriate products for UNICEF assisted programmes in water,
sanitation and education are identified and procured.
Key Expected Results
1. You will plan and direct procurement and supply
matters in the areas of water and education in support of UNICEF Country
Programmes and in collaboration with Programme Division, WHO, other agencies,
NGOs and industry.
2. You will ensure procurement is conducted in compliance with UN Financial Rules and Regulations and Divisional Procedures.
3. You will develop and implement procurement strategies for the materials responsible for in close collaboration with Chief, Contracting.
4. You will advise and support country programmes and HQ divisions on supply issues relevant to water, sanitation and education and helps develop supply analysis and strategies of country programmes and procurement services.
5. Responsible for ensuring that the historical files and knowledge of UNICEF procurement for the UN Oil For Food project are adequately maintained and accessible in accordance with requirements.
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Advanced university degree in
Business/Management, Engineering or other related sciences disciplines.
Ten years in international business or programmatic setting with knowledge of products required for water and/or educations programmes and of worldwide markets. Senior experience in public procurement. Proven management experience very important.
Fluency in English and another UN language.
