InfraMed Infrastructure: new UfM investment fund targets €1 billion commitments
A group of major financial institutions, including the European Investment Bank, have come together to launch InfraMed Infrastructure, the first financing facility of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). The InfraMed Fund will be the largest fund dedicated to infrastructure investments in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean. With initial commitments of €385 million, the new fund is targeting commitments of €1 billion. InfraMed Infrastructure, which will be established under French law, will contribute to the Union for the Mediterranean by providing funding to sustainable urban, energy and transport infrastructure projects on the Southern and Eastern shores of the Mediterranean.
