In their fourth year, The Awards for Environmental Excellence, have beenrecognised as one of the top awards in Europe after being awarded RSA(Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce)accreditation in 2009.
Candidate projects are to be proposed by organisations that havedeveloped projects that deliver more efficient ways to provide cleanwater, reduce the environmental impact of processing it or help conservethis precious resource.
Entrants can be those businesses that have delivered these projectsthemselves or those who have facilitated change by offering adviceorconsultation services.
The following important issues will be particularly considered: pollutioncontrol, help water users adapt to climate change, reduce water use andimprove efficiency of existing systems. This award is open to any companyor public body, from those that treat our water to those who use it.
There is no restriction on the geographical location of projects butentrants should be based in the UK, Ireland or mainland Europe. Eligibleprojects must have been completed no earlier than January 2009. Entrantsare invited to submit a brief case study of no more than 600 words,accompanies by up to three images. Shortlisted projects will be invitedto submit supplementary information.
