FEMIP partnership with the Mediterranean partners
EU Finance Ministers believe that the best way forward to enhance the partnership with the Mediterranean partners is to develop the reinforced Facility for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership (FEMIP), the results of which have been assessed as positive. In the Conclusions adopted by the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) today, the Ministers propose improving the linkages of FEMIP with the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) by a better integration of the EIB’s activities into EU country strategies and by better combining EIB loans and EU budgetary resources. To this effect, they say, adequate resources should be provided by the Community budget.
