Call for papers for: 14th German Dam Symposium and 7th ICOLD European Club Dam Symposium
The German National Committee on Large Dams is organising the 14th German Dam Symposium and 7th ICOLD European Club Dam Symposium from 17–19 September 2007. The Symposium is being held on the Weihenstephan Campus of the Technical University of Munich in the diocesan and university town of Freising located 35 km north of Munich only 5 km from Munich International Airport. The general topic of the 14th German Dam Symposium and 7th ICOLD European Club Dam Symposium is therefore "Dams in Europe – Tasks and Challenges". Besides the overall European view of dam-related questions, the focus will be on topics such as public awareness of dam-related issues and the benefits, risks and economic value of dams, large hydraulic structures and hydropower.
The Symposium provides a platform for the sharing of experience not only for German-speaking dam experts but also for the European dam industry. For the first time, presentations at the German Dam Symposium can be made either in German or English: simultaneous translation will be provided. Deadline for abstract submission: December 8, 2006.
