SAND Final Event
The SAND project developed an integral approach of flood management based on
developing and redeveloping mineral extraction sites, dealing with flood
damage alleviation, spatial quality, and water quality. Five pilot projects
along the rivers Seine, Oise/Aisne (France), Erft (Germany) and Rhine and
Meuse (The Netherlands) have worked together for 5 years. This project is
partly EU-funded by Interreg IIIB NWE. In 2008 the SAND project finishes.
