2nd Workshop on Renewable Energies and Space
The European Space Agency (ESA) together with CENER and Ciemat organizes the 2nd Workshop on Renewable Energies and Space on the 9th October at the headquarters of Ciemat in Madrid. The objective is to present the activities, services and capacities of the ESA applicable in the environment of the renewable energies.
The IAP program of the ESA offers opportunities for projects aiming to develop new support services to renewables using the capacities of the ESA. The workshop will focus on this program, as well as, the call for tenders for viability projects of the ESA and examples of successful applications ESA capacities in different areas.
The workshop will also reflect the opinion of the main associations of renewable energy sector on the opportunities for the different technologies (wind, photovoltaic, solar thermal and biomass) offered by the space industry.
There will be a debate with the audience in the form of questions-and-answers session where the assistants will be able to present ideas of projects or applications to be presented in the call for tenders of the ESA.
The workshop is free. If you would like to participate please confirm your attendance through the following link:

The National Renewable Energy Centre of Spain (CENER), the Energy, Environment and Technology Research Centre of Spain (CIEMAT), the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) and the European Space Agency (ESA) are pleased to announce the second workshop of the Ambassador Platform for European Adoption of Renewable Energies (EARE) on the 9th of October 2012 in Madrid, Spain.
Introduction
The objective of the workshop is to discuss with the energy industry what their immediate needs are and how space-based services can help to fulfil them. The workshop will present the results of the work performed in 2011, including the opportunities enabled by ESA to the wind power industry as example.
The workshop intends to continue exploring some of the opportunities already identified with the wind power industry, but it also intends to open opportunities to other renewable energies, especially biomass and solar. It is the intention of ESA to discuss with these areas similar collaboration ways with them.
