MELIA PROJECT "CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING SEMINAR ON INTEGRATED WATER MANAGEMENT
The MELIA Project is organising a Capacity Building Training Seminar on Integrated Water Management in Venice, Italy, 24 – 29 October 2010.
MELIA Project, "Mediterranean Dialogue on integrated water management", is a FP6 INCO-MED project co-funded by the European Commission.
The seminar focuses on strengthening the ability to assess integrated water management issues. Sharing and discussing views and experiences on IWRM will provide the opportunity to directly address the challenges of sustainable development. The seminar aims to support improved integrated and effective water resources management in the Mediterranean environment.
The participatory-based partnership of MELIA represents almost all the different stakeholders involved in the water sector within the Mediterranean. This means that the MELIA partners, each of them a representative of the various categories, will help MELIA sharing the knowledge base widely.
The seminar integrates knowledge and skill-building tools such as lectures, case studies, exchange of local and global experience, a field visit, and facilitated group exercises. Participants will be stimulated to link their own experiences to the seminar content so that the insights developed can be to applies in concrete situations.
