Press conference: MoU to be signed between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfMS) ; 17-01-2011 Barcelone (Spain)
Dear Sir, Madam,
You are cordially invited to the PRESS CONFERENCE organised on the occasion of the SIGNING CEREMONY OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between the EUROPEAN INVESTMENT BANK (EIB) and the SECRETARIAT OF THE UNION FOR THE MEDITERRANEAN (UfMS) on Monday 17 January 2011 at 12.30h.
The EIB will be represented by its Vice-President Philippe de Fontaine Vive and the UfMS by its Secretary General Ahmad Masa’deh.
This historical agreement will formalise the cooperation between the two leading institutions aimed to strengthening Euro-Mediterranean relations and developing multilateral projects.
The EIB is the main financial investor in the Mediterranean region, with more than EUR 10 billion invested since 2002 for development-oriented projects. The UfMS is the central institution and projects coordination office of the Union for the Mediterranean Partnership which brings together 43 countries.
We wish to share with you the perspectives for cooperation between the EIB and the UfMS, and answer questions regarding Mediterranean cooperation and its challenges during the press conference.
