PROMOTE workshop and Technical meeting
The overall aim of the PROMOTE project is to set up an efficiency control and performance verification system for soil-groundwater protection and rehabilitation. The system will be based on a performance verification concept and generic testings as applied by a European network of testing centres. At the same time the PROMOTE consortium is not a closed society but invites stakeholders to actively influence the outcome of the PROMOTE project (see also our CEN workshop).
A strong impact of the results of the PROMOTE project is expected in particular for faster market introduction of new and novel technologies. This is meant to strengthen competitiveness of technology developers in Europe. Special emphasis is taken on SMEs and Eastern European partners. The PROMOTE outcome will have the potential to act as a germ cell of a pre-normative verification system by overcoming implementation barriers and by bridging between innovative and standardised technologies.
PROMOTE is a Specific Targeted REsearch Project (STREP) funded by the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission. The project is following up the Environmental Technologies Action Plan (ETAP) of the European Union.
