Debate: The European Waste Framework Directive
The intention of this debate is to discuss the current WFD text and to analyze its anticipated outcomes on specific aspects of the waste industry. We see this debate focusing on legal certainties, environment protection objectives, and resulting conditions for the maintenance of a level playing field, where practical, for the public and private sectors alike. There will also be discussions on how far the new Directive will really provide the legal certainty that is needed by waste industry, by public authorities, and the public and more widely by all those who will participate in the development of the renewed waste policy under the new EU Framework directive.
