The first meeting of the Techneau Small Scale Systems (3S) Task Force - “Decentralised water supply and membrane processes”
The European integrated research project Techneau (www.techneau.org/ ) has decided to strengthen its activities on decentralised water supply, with a focus on the development and demonstration of innovative and low-cost disinfection systems.
This was embodied by the creation of the Techneau Small Scale Systems (3S) Task Force, which proposed mission is to ensure the effective integration and planning of activities related to small scale systems and decentralised drinking water supply within Techneau, and to network with other similar international undertakings.
The first meeting of the 3S Task Force will be organised in Berlin on 7 September 2007 in the form of a workshop.
Workshop objectives
- Overview of decentralised water supply situation in Europe and worldwide Discussion: Definition of Techneau’s contribution and expertise within the international undertakings
- Review of membrane-based systems & experience for small-scale supply Discussion: Techneau international case-studies of membrane concepts in decentralised schemes
Workshop outcomes
- Advanced program of Techneau case studies on decentralised water supply
- Synthetic report of discussions to support further development of activities
