INVEST 2006: 2nd International Investment & Trade Conference for Sudan on Water & Power

International Event Partners (IEP) are organising Sudan Invest 2006, the 2nd International Investment & Trade conference for Sudan, an innovative conference and exhibition designed to highlight the enormous opportunities for investment and trade in both North and South Sudan, the largest nation in Africa

The conference will be held from the 12th-14th September 2006, under the Auspices of the Ministry of Investment and the Ministry of Water & Irrigation at The Friendship Hall, Khartoum, and will consist of two full days of Plenary Sessions and three days of exhibitions.

Sectors that the Power & Water conference and exhibition is designed to address are many and varied. Some of these are Hydro Power construction, power generation, power distribution, desalination, water distribution, wastewater treatment & management and pumps to outline a few.

IEP organized the first ever Sudan Invest in Khartoum on 13th-15th September 2005 which was inaugurated by the Vice President of Sudan, His Excellency Mr. Aly Osman Taha.

Sudan Invest 2005 brought together senior Sudanese government officials, local and foreign investors, entrepreneurs, bankers and institutions concerned with practical trade and investment issues in a very successful conference that gained enormous media attention:

• 466 attendees participated in the Sudan Invest 2005 conference
• 47% of those were foreign representatives
• 24 Foreign Embassies were represented
• 37 local and foreign journalists covered the event including representatives from Al Jazeera, Reuters News Agency, Associated Press, Sudan News Agency and Sudan TV

The Sudan Invest 2006 Conference

Sudan Invest 2006 will again be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Investment of Sudan and also has the strong support of other Ministries concerned with investment and trade promotion in North and South Sudan.

The forthcoming conference will follow up on and develop the themes of the first very successful event and will focus on real business opportunities in selected industries. In doing so we would hope that address the four main sectors that are prompting investment namely — Energy & Mining, Power & Water, ICT, Trade & Agriculture.
