Eric MINO has been working with European institutions since the end of the 80s, on technology transfers and research development. In 1994, he launched a network of European cities called TeleCities focusing on the applications of innovative information and communication technologies for socio-economic development in urban areas. Focusing on the user side of services, he took part in the development of the first e-government strategies and applications in a wide range of areas (teleworking, education, healthcare, transport, environment, e-democracy, urban planning, online administration, etc.).
He started his career on research activities related to natural language processing (the access to structured information), as well as speech recognition and voice synthesis for accessing vocal services.
Thanks to his ability in managing a network of public institutions, plus his knowledge of EU institutions and Internet technologies, he was appointed manager of the EMWIS Technical Unit in 1999, where he has since gained broad experience in the water sector.
