The AquaKnow platform organises itself around two working axes:

  • Classifying the information available

The general approach retained is to classify the information available through thematic indexes combined with customised search engines both internal and external within the following sections: News, events and the library storing in various formats documents or links; the capacity building section providing users with an inventory of trainings, workshops, seminars and methodological tools; the tools and data section, displaying links or directly various databases and supporting tools for the water sector. Complying with the philosophy of the website, these indexes are user fed and thus directly updated by members. The thematic sections point out the existing information, data or tools, without duplication however hosting capabilities are offered to make data available and accessible online if necessary.

  • Building a community

It includes interactive and user friendly tools allowing building communities in order to capture the informal knowledge issued from single users through improving exchanges. The working group are specific space freely available in order to work collaboratively.
