WANA Forum side event: Regional Solution for Water Scarcity in West Asia-North Africa (16 March 2012, Marseille, France)
The WANA Forum is a regional initiative, established in 2009, with the stated aim of bringing the people of the region together.
Understanding that many of the challenges cannot be faced by a single nation or group alone and have far-reaching implications, the WANA Forum acts as the hub that brings the people together to develop a common regional vision. In addition, the WANA Forum seeks to strengthen links with other existing initiatives and organizations in the region.
The WANA region stretches from Bangladesh to Morocco. The term itself, as opposed to the “Middle East”, advocates a definition that is less rooted in political geography and based on an understanding of human geography, with shifting borders, flows of people, resources and ideas.
