Portlets presentation and exercises

Portlets are reusable webpage components that display relevant information to portal users; they are displayed differently according to their destination place in the page.

There are 3 types of portlets in these portals:

• left-side
• centre of the page - just front page
• right side - folders' view, administrative area

Exercises:

• enter the administrative area and click on Portlets -> Manage; explain each type of portlet
  
• also in the administrative area, start playing with the portlets around the pages from Portlets -> Manage
• advanced exercise: enter the Zope Management Interface -> portal_portlets and understand how the portlets are stored and built
